Cobbs’ Charitable Gift Annuity Helps to Support NCH’s Mission

Brian and Denise Cobb

Brian and Denise Cobb are former television executives and station owners who lived outside Washington, D.C., prior to moving to Naples in 1997. The two are avid philanthropists who actively give their time, talent, and treasure to meaningful causes. Denise, one of the original news anchors for CNN, generously shares her professional expertise with many local and national nonprofits. Recently, the couple decided to make a generous gift to NCH in the form of a charitable gift annuity.

“Neither of us grew up wealthy and we always thought if there was ever a time that we can pay it forward, we would do that,” Brian said. “We chose to set up a charitable annuity through NCH because it allows us to support the hospital while we are still alive yet receive some of the tax benefits.”

Brian and Denise plan to live in Naples for the remainder of their lives and want to be able to count on first-class healthcare. They also connect strongly with NCH’s mission as a community hospital providing emergency and medically necessary care for all citizens in our community, whether they can afford care or not.

“Both of us have become selfish and realize that the best feeling on the planet is to help someone else,” Denise said. “We do a lot of research and give when we see the impact first-hand.” The Cobbs said they saw that impact several times when Denise’s elderly mother received care at NCH. “We were so impressed by the level of care she received, and that just added to our feelings about wanting to help maintain that level of excellence moving forward.”
