Dr. Morris Lipnik, who remains active in his dermatology practice and serves as subsection chief of dermatology for NCH Healthcare System, is well aware of the occasional need for physicians to take a break. That’s why part of his estate-plan gift has helped fund the NCH North Naples Lipnik Physicians Lounge.

“I remember so many nights when I was working as an intern without a place to have a snack or read a book,” says Dr. Lipnik. “It means a lot to a physician to have a room you can go to.”

Dr. Lipnik and his wife Lois made part of their estate gift to NCH irrevocable so they could see the outcome now with the naming of the lounge. The couple met about 70 years ago on a double blind date where they were initially with opposite partners, but “there was an instant connection and we switched dates.” Dr. Lipnik proposed a few weeks later.

Originally from Detroit, the couple has lived in Bonita Springs for the past 19 years. Last year Dr. Lipnik was named the best dermatologist in Naples by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals, and he also recently published a professional paper on surgical methods for people with aging skin. The two experiences Lois has had with NCH as a patient have been very positive.

“We both feel safe when we walk through the doors of NCH; we know we are well taken care of,” Dr. Lipnik says. “I know that the hospital will keep improving and help more people. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to do something for the community.”
